As I rapidly approach my 50th year on the planet, I find myself asking more and more questions. In today’s climate, some of these questions can be asked freely, and some cannot. I am a defender of tradition; but not for tradition’s sake. I am a supporter of change; but not thoughtless change. I am against anti-intellectualism; but I also love outrageous humor. I resist the dumbing-down of society; but I do believe it is possible to be welcoming, inclusive and diverse whilst holding fast to that with which I identify. I love words, their proper use, and correct spelling; but I am not a grammar snob. I would like to have been a more thoughtful and productive writer, which is why I’m here now. Won’t you join me on this journey? It is, after all, a part of life’s rich tapestry!
